Many teachers helped me along the way through school. Most of my memories from teachers come from high school, obviously because they are the most recent. However, two teachers prior to high school stick out in my mind when I think of the influential people I encountered during school. These two amazing women were my Kindergarten teacher, Mrs. Miller and my 7th grade English teacher, Ms. Coronesi. These teachers and people who helped me throughout my early schooling get a lot of credit for who I am today and what I have become. Without them, I feel that I wouldn't have become the girl I am today and I wouldn't have succeeded as much as I did in the following school years.
When I entered kindergarten, I went hand in hand with my best friend Megan. We were frightened that kindergarten would be scary, however all of our fears went away once we met our teacher, Mrs. Miller. She taught us so much and we made so many friends. Kindergarten is where most kids learn the basics of their letters. We used to get these HUGE colorful books every time we would learn a new letter. Each book was focused towards a certain letter. We would work on it all week and take it home on Friday with a sticker on it saying how great we did! Without these books I obviously wouldn’t have learned my letters but I also wouldn’t have learned how to take pride in my work. Bringing home something with my name on it and a sticker saying I did awesome, was the greatest accomplishment to me when I was five.
After kindergarten, came first grade and Megan and I moved up, to our surprise, with Mrs. Miller again. We were ecstatic to find out that we had our awesome teacher for another whole year! We had just as much fun with her in first grade that we did in kindergarten and when it was time to get a new teacher for second grade, we were so upset. Megan and I ran up to Mrs. Miller to give her a hug and ended up knocking her to the ground! It was such a memorable two years that I will forever remember. Mrs. Miller helped me so much as I begin my schooling career. I will never forget her for all she did for me. I also need to give credit to my best friend Megan. Being in school with her made me LOVE school and got me interested in going. Many other teachers influenced me as well but I really feel like spending two years with my favorite teacher was a really big influence and motivation for me.
Aside from kindergarten and first grade, I believe that my 7th grade english teacher was also I big influence on me. Ms. Coronesi was the most helpful and kind teacher I had in middle school. She helped me with my writing and after school, I attended her creative writing club. Ms. Coronesi would put the beginning of a sentence on the board and we would get 3 minutes to just write. Wherever the sentence took us was what we were supposed to write and then share. I believe that this helped my creativity and imagination in my writing styles. When I moved onto 8th grade, I still went back to her for help. I wish I kept in touch with her once I reached high school, however her influence on me helped me prepare for high school writing and I will always remember her for helping me in her after school club.
Thanks to Mrs. Miller and Ms. Coronesi, I was able to succeed in school more than I ever imagined and I owe it all to them. I believe that they are still helping kids as they continue to teach, and impact lives just as they did to me. If they weren't so great, I wouldn't have been able to write an essay about them! Although I have vague memories from school before high school, I am able to remember little memories from them because they were so influential on my life.
